Phlegon , a Greek historian writing around AD 137 confirms that there was a great eclipse and an earthquake around the time of Jesus’ crucifixion. While this is not a direct confirmation of the crucifixion it does confirm other information, the eclipse and the earthquake as told of in the Bible:
